We are a team of highly qualified banking professionals who have teamed up together for many years and have all worked extensively in Asia. We collectively have expertise in trading, equity finance, leverage finance, and credit.

Partners’ Biographies

  • Geoffroy Wallier, Managing Partner Geoffroy Wallier founded OrfiCapital where he acts as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. He started his career with JP Morgan where after briefly working in Paris and London he went to Hong Kong as a derivative marketer and structurer and eventually headed up the credit and interest rate derivative team in North Asia. He then founded Novarisk in partnership with the Edmond de Rothschild Group. Novarisk was specialised in structuring, marketing derivatives and financing equity stakes. Novarisk was eventually sold back 5 years later, and led Mr Wallier to join the Royal Bank of Scotland (‘RBS’). As a Managing Director in RBS, Geoffroy Wallier started the equity financing activity for the bank, he directly originated, structured and co-risk managed some of the largest transactions in the market and became Global Head of Equity Financing and options. He then went to Asia and became member of the Investment Bank management board and of the Markets management board, he headed all structuring activities in Asia including emerging market, FX, fixed income and credit. Geoffroy Wallier, a French national, graduated in finance and economics from Sciences-Po in Paris, he also holds a master in business and tax law from Université Paris-Assas.

  • Benjamin Robinot, Senior Adviser Benjamin Robinot joined as a senior adviser at Orfi Capital to develop their credit risk framework. He had a long-time experience of Asian culture before he started his professional career at BNP Paribas in Seoul. He then assumed various functions in Investment Banking over the past 10 years specialising in credit and structured finance. He notably worked at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi as a credit analyst, as an originator in Leveraged Finance out of RBS Milan, and a structurer in Equity Financing at RBS in London. Over the years he piled up track record on deals at the boundary of credit, financing and structuring for private equity funds, high net worth individuals, and large corporates. Benjamin is a French national who holds a Masters in Finance degree from E.M.Lyon business school.


  • Alain Chanezon, Partner Alain joined Orfi Capital to develop the Risk Management platform and Trading activity. He started his career in 1993 in Asia, working with W.I.Carr, the Securities Company of Bank Indosuez, in Tokyo for two years working on systems migration and organisation then in Hong Kong another two years working on front office developments. He then became an exotic equity derivatives trader, working for seven years in Paris for Société Générale. He subsequently worked in London for Nomura and Barclays Capital before moving back to Hong Kong for Barclays Capital as Equity Derivatives Head of exotic trading for Asia. Having joined Equity Derivatives early in its development and given his technical background, he was actively involved in developing the business and infrastructure for his three employers. Alain is a French national who graduated from Telecom ParisTech with an Engineering degree major in Computer Science.

  • Roland Hinterkoerner, Partner Roland Hinterkoerner joined Orfi Capital as a partner to develop the activity and contribute to the firm’s macro fixed income views. Roland started his banking career at Deutsche Bank where he worked in equity, fixed income and derivatives areas mostly in Japan. He then held senior positions at UBS and BNP Paribas before joining the Royal Bank of Scotland to help build the debt capital market business for corporate clients in Europe. In 2008, Roland relocated to Hong Kong where as Managing Director he headed the Debt Capital Market activity for Asia and positioned the bank as a top 5 ranked bond house in the region. He also headed RBS’ Corporate Advisory function bringing macro and sector knowledge to the bank’s largest clients and was a member of the bank’s regional capital allocation committee until 2016. More recently Roland started his own online financial publishing activity which is widely read in Hong Kong and throughout Asia. Roland holds a degrees in business administration and international politics from Johannes Kepler University in Austria and Syracuse University in New York.
